We want to take the opportunity to thank Donna & Norm for the tremendous job they did with last Saturday 's fundraiser in Hudson. It was a fun evening filled with laughter and a huge success for Refuge RR. Their help could not have come at a better time .
Big thanks to both of you , to the amazing band Desperate Measures and to all of your volunteers who helped make the evening successful, we really appreciate it all .

Molly and her foal URGENTLY need a sponsor!
Molly was rescued in February 2010 with 9 other Arabian horses. They were emaciated and kept tied inside on moutains of manure for 5 years. The only pregnant one in the herd was Molly and she just had her baby January 24th 2011 at 12:10 PM. It was the coldest day so far and the vet had to be called in cause baby was having a hard time. Molly was long overdue and kept her foal 20 extra days in her belly, causing her colostrum to leak out early. Poor baby was not able to get any. He is feeling a bit better today, but will need immune boosting medication and veterinary care for the next few weeks to ensure that he overcomes any infection that he may encounter. We sort of understand why he wanted to stay inside where he is warm and protected. He was born into a cold and cruel world but luckily for him he is under the care of Refuge RR for horses, so no matter how cold it gets outside, he will always be protected.
Please, help support Molly and her foal so they may receive all the best care and have a fighting chance to a happy and healthy life .

Here's Junior 10 days later.
Our little guy had to be rushed to Ste-Hyacinthe hospital this past week. After some testing the vet discovered that he had zero immunity due to the fact that he did not have any of Mommy's colustrum since she had lost it all before his birth. He was given some plasma transfusions to ensure he would be able to fight any infection that would come his way till he developes his own immunity system.Although we are thrilled and confident that our little one will be fine , this has increased our vet bill considerably . Again we ask for your help, without your kindness and generosity we can't save lives, like Junior's .

Here's our Halloween baby, Pumpkin.
How adorable is he...Born on Halloween day with a smooth birth, however we quickly discovered he had a bad infection so he was immediately put on antibiotics and thankfully it all cleared up .As you can see he is doing great ,he is strong and beautiful .
Pumpkin also needs a sponsor.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a Happy New year!
As the previous years, 2010 has been a very busy year to save lives. We invite you to read our newsletter where you will find touching stories, and everything about what went on at the Refuge RR for Horses during the year.
The Refuge RR counts on people like you to allow them do their work as an educator, to be the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves and save lives. So please, listen to your heart and be generous. Your donation is more than welcome and mostly appreciated.
Click here to open the Newletter.
Click on the Donation button above or here if you wish to become a sponsor.

We would like to thank COBA Studios and Print Shop for helping us with the printing of our news letter. We do not have a budget for things outside of veterinarian care and feed ,so it was so helpfull for them to step up and offer us a break. We realize the importance of communicating with our supporters but with limited donations we need to prioritize distribution of funds. We hope in the near future to be able to increase communications and visibility.
So again , thank you COBA Studios! www.cobastudios.com
